24 Oct Early Mornings and Big Wins: A Journey of Growth and Teamwork at McKeever Finish Carpentry
Once again, I find myself in a Home Depot parking lot, well before opening hours, this time in South New Jersey on a brisk morning. Moments like these remind me of the many things I’m grateful for, the lessons learned in the past few weeks, and those yet to come.
Being a people-first company makes these lessons a welcomed challenge. I can rest easy knowing what some of them might be; others are still unknown, but ultimately, there’s only one goal: leveraging them to benefit my team. The answers come… they always do.
We are running strong in New Jersey. Ricardo is thriving in his new role as assistant foreman. The crew is content, and production in C wing is humming along smoothly.
In Kennewick, WA, the Core wing is ripe for action, and we are positioning ourselves to capitalize on that. Despite some delays, we’re methodically tackling tedious tasks and gearing up for a significant boost in production.
In Placer, CA, we’re in a prime spot. All materials are ready in B wing; now it’s a matter of making rounds through the building, maintaining quality, managing materials, and finding our rhythm.
Congratulations are in order for Tari, who was awarded the Teamwork MVP this quarter! Luis and Carlos have earned the Efficiency Award for implementing some outstanding ideas that significantly impacted our workflow. Derrick’s exceptional support for two teammates won him the Outreach Award. We continue to onboard high-quality team members whose attitudes reinforce our law of attraction. Jeff has earned a promotion through his intentionality and proactive approach, relieving his foreman of some duties.
This November, as we navigate through the Thanksgiving season, we’re set to bid on several new projects and aim to have 15%-20% of our crew members fully qualified in a comprehensive First Aid program. We’re on track to have 90% of our crew fully certified to operate the crucial off-road high-reach forklifts.
Thanks to an incredible team, I’m confident that we’ll continue to excel on the American highways and byways, diligently serving our communities, customers, and each other.
