Gratitude and Grit: Reflections from the Field as We Approach Thanksgiving

Gratitude and Grit: Reflections from the Field as We Approach Thanksgiving

I’ve been making rounds on the phone over the past few days, checking in with our crews. Most have decided to work through the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. This inspires me, as it usually does, but this time, it’s reminiscent of my days in the Navy, where holidays were a foreign concept—not in the way we understand them here at home. So, once again, I’m reminded to maintain a sense of gratitude.

The upcoming week is shaping up to be full of incredible opportunities. We are bidding on two projects for returning customers, preparing for a significant delivery in New Jersey, and much more! We’re also celebrating Juan’s birthday and welcoming Ricardo back from a well-deserved vacation.

I love the momentum, teamwork, and the challenges that I’m sure are just around the corner. As November draws to a close, we’ll shift gears, embracing December’s cooler weather and our white-hot production pace. We extend our heartfelt thanks to our customers and teammates. Para Siempre!

A Happy Thanksgiving to everyone reading this. May you reflect and enjoy the warm blanket of freedom provided to us by the US Navy sailors who stand watch tonight and every night.

As you might doze off in your recliner, bellies full, surrounded by family and tradition, spare a thought for the Messenger of the Watch on all US warships worldwide. They’re leaving the bridge through a quick-action watertight hatch, descending ladders, maneuvering over knee-knockers, and passing through corridors lit by red lamps to begin “wake-ups” for the next watch section. This happens tonight, and every night, every four hours, for eternity.

Thanks to an incredible team, I am confident that we will continue to excel out on the American highways and byways, diligently serving our communities, customers, and each other.
